So i am playing BG1 and i rolled my first ever sorcerer and i have no idea how to put the spells i know onto my spell bar so i can cast them
A sorcerer only has to sleep first (Wizards have to select which spells to memorize in their spellbook first). In AD&D you have to sleep before you can cast spells.
Are you using BG Tutu? There are no sorcerers in vanilla BG1, only mages, and there is a significant difference between the two. Anyway...

If your character is a mage: Check your spellbook. On the left side of each double spread you will see some slots which represent the number of spells your mage is currently capable of memorizing. Since you`re playing BG1, and I assume you`re still a level 1 mage, you can either memorize 1 or 2 number of spells at the moment. On the right side you can see the spells your mage has already learnt. Simply click on the icon of the spell you wish to memorize. Then your character has to rest for eight hours (in-game of course; either find an inn or click on the rest button.) After resting, the spells will appear in your spell slot, and you will be able to cast them. Once you have used them, however, you will have to rest again for the spells to become available.

If your character is a sorcerer: You do not need to choose which spells you want to memorize, your character only needs to rest to be able to cast the spells which he has in his repertoire, (spell book, right side) and the higher level he is, the most spells he can cast after resting. However, if you are not using BGTutu, which lets you play BG1 with BG2 engine and rules, you can`t select this class.

Hope it`s not too long-winded and it helps some.
