Hello everyone!

Did you know that a Dreamcast version of Baldur's Gate (I'm pretty sure it was the first one) was sort of...talked about? It was actually planned - which is more than talking about it if you ask me - but was scrapped so early in it's development that folks can't even leak prototypes of it.

I'm not sure if GoG would let me link two of the sources I found but I can definitely share this one:

Do you think the Dreamcast's internal hardware could have handled the game? The Dreamcast's mouse and keyboard would suit the game perfectly, but what do you think about the controller?

Sega never gave a reason for dropping it, but it was slated as an online game. Even the PC version has, shall we say, sub-par online functionality, so my guess is that was the reason. But that is just my guess.

I never owned a Dreamcast, so I can't comment on the hardware or controller.
