I read the update notes and didn't notice anything that I had encountered. Still, many bugs have been fixed and they've put out these updates at a fairly decent rate too. I suppose I'm satisfied with the quality of the post-release support BG:EE has been receiving so far, and if they keep it up the game might even become what it was supposed to be on release. They haven't really touched multiplayer yet, which many say is still a disaster, but it's been promised that they'd fix it.

ppw0: An obvious question rises from all of this: why the hell was there no public beta?
I agree, the release should have been pushed back further and the time used for finding and eliminating bugs, but the problem with that was that the first time they delayed the release date, it's been communicated so poorly that a large chunk of the pre-orderers and fans had become enraged. Another delay was out of the question - I think if they went that route it would have discouraged huge masses of people from buying their game, and would have caused many to become disgruntled with Overhaul Games.

Celton88: That website that popped up that everyone was talking about has some more information on it. GameBanshee posted information.

It looks like it could be fun; integrating the mods from the community and adding new characters/NPCs

Apparently they won't be running servers for their multiplayer. You can read about on Trent Oster's twitter account (https://twitter.com/TrentOster) "@CHaddlesey We are going to do a game setup system, but we are not going to be running servers." So in the off chance any of you were considering buying it when the "improved" multiplayer showed up you can stop holding your breath now. Its not coming. I expect people will be running into the same firewall and port issues they are currently (even when using hamachi).

Its atrocious PR frankly, they only recently (within the last week or so) updated their website to include the fact that multiplayer would not have matchaking service until after the launch.

I did a lot of reading here, there and everywhere about this enhanced version with all of it's bugs and other problems and especially it not running on an inegrated graphics chip. I took a chance and bought it today eventhough I have an integrated intel 41G chip. So far, otherthan the initial intro movie which has sound skipping, this game looks really good and actually plays more fluidly than the D&D anthology version I bought last year.
Otherthan the sound hiccups during the intro movie and while creating my character it seems to run just fine so far.
They are up to Patch #5 and apparently a lot of if not most of the problems I read about here in this forum have been fixed ... including the problems running on integrated chips. I took a chance and I am glad I did. Can't wait to get home after I go into town to pick up some groceries and stuff .... This game looks really good now and seems to play better than the one I have already on my machine.
GLAD I waited until now to get it as they have been working on fixes since the release ... Would have been greatly bummed out like many others but I am even confident that they will also get the skipping movie sounds fixed relatively soon as they appear to be working on the fixes for any and all of the problems this game suffered from in it's initial release.

And of course the question on everyone's mind is when it's coming to GOG. I think the answer might be either "quite some time" or "never", because the developers still don't want to sell it outside of Beamdog. They were forced by Atari to sell the game on Steam, and the same happening with GOG seems very unlikely to me.
Im going to question why this thread is even in here because GOG does not sell this game

nijuu: Im going to question why this thread is even in here because GOG does not sell this game
Because it's an update of a beloved game that people aren't sure if they want to buy, so they're talking it over with other people who love the game? There's no reason to ban it from the BG forums just because this particular version isn't carried on GOG.

Because GOG *should* sell it ! No way I ever use Steam, so I need it !

It was also announced in Gamersgate and Gamestop/Impulse.
So it doesn`t make sense your explanation.

Huh, it was? That's good news, I suppose. We might see it on GOG soon then.

Edit: Well, unless they want to keep the DRM, in which case not.

Don't GamersGate and Gamestop just sell Steam keys for the game? As i see it there is nothing at the moment that points to a GOG release anytime soon...

Also remember that the Steam release was pushed solely by Atari, probably because of their imminent insolvency.
