Just downloaded the early access and as soon as I hit Play there is a black screen, no sound, no nothing.
I tried with both Vulkan and Direct X11 options.
I can use everything else on the computer, nothing else is stuck or hanging, just the Larian launcher and BG3 screen/window.

Windows 7 64-bits
CPU: Core-i5 4690K
RAM: 12 GBs
GPU: Geforce GTX 1050 2 GB OC

Any idea on this?
Anyone had the same issue and found a fix?

Edit: I noticed a couple new downloads happened (small updates) and this time I got a Larian crash report tool. I filled it and about 15 minutes later the game worked. I changed nothing on my side. I guess early access means this sort of things can happen.

Same thing happened to me. I restarted my PC and stopped all non essential tasks from running and the game worked fine.

The game goes to black screen and crash every time I launch the game.

Workaround that works for me:
- Hold Shift button and click Play, keep holding Shift until the game loads to the splash art screen.
or
- Click Play button and keep spam clicking on it, or anywhere within the Larian Launcher window until the game in the background loads to the splash art screen.

The game requires internet connection to play, you cant start it in pure offline mode.

Holding down shift key makes no sense at all and I was sure you where trolling but it actually worked when nothing else have.

Is this a one-time requirement or do you need to be online on every game session?

Another question is whether or not this is only for the Early Access/In Development phase or will continue after the official release.

I dont know, the joke is that it wont start for me so I cant even test.

So how do you know you need to be online for it to start?

I just tried, I disabled my network interface, started the launcher and the game started just fine. I reload my save playing for five minutes and no issue at all, the game didn't even complain that I was offline.

EDIT : I never connected to Larian, I alway select "skip"
