I was able to run Baldurs Gate 2 just fine until I installed the new mac update. Now it just hangs on launch, and doesn't actually open. The icon shows up and it claims its running, but nothing happened. I went into the wineskin and did a test-run and will post the error logs below. Looks like it's something to do with X11 maybe?

I'm not using Enhanced Edition. I don't own enhanced edition and honestly i don't really want it. Only BG1 felt like it needed an update, BG2 is just fine in it's original vanilla configuration. I'm not going to drop money on another edition of the same game unless I'm absolutely sure it will solve my problem too.

Here are the logs of the test run:

Likely it's the known issue with Wineskin & High Sierra. Launch Wineskin & uncheck Auto Detect GPU for Direct 3D.
I haven't had any issues with making my own Wineskin wrappers in High Sierra. This may very likely be a bug that only happens with the GOG version.

You very likely may be incorrect. Not to mention the large number of Porting Kit wrapper updates specifically because of this.

Same problem here. Unchecking Auto Detect GPU in Wineskin doesn't help.
try running through brew wine? Worked for me while I was using Mac OS.
I'm using MacOS 10.14 - Mojave, and I received these instructions from Genoan (GOG Support) and it worked:

Please try changing the version of Wineskin and Wine engine. To do this you will need to install Wineskin Winery from here:
http://wineskin.urgesoftware.com/tiki-index.php?page=Downloads
Start the application and use it to download additional versions of Wine (by clicking +).
Now you should be able to right click the game's app, select Show Package Contents and run Wineskin.app.
If the Wineskin.app is not there go to Contents > Resources > game, right-click the game's app select Show Package Contents and open Wineskin.app.
In the Advanced options change the engine to the one you have downloaded.
