jsidhu762: 25 in each stat. Go big or go home.

dtgreene: 25? That's way too low. If you want to be effective, you need to raise your stats into the millions at least. Otherwise, there is *no way* you could defeat Baal, who is at least level 4000.

Anyway, in Baldur's Gate 2's expansion, there is a spell which has a chance of being able to actually give you 25 in all stats. The effect is only temporary, but temporary is still long enough to go through your stash of scrolls and scribe them all (with 25 Intelligence, scribing a scroll can't fail). By the way, did you know that in BG2's tutorial, Xan has 25 Intelligence?
I knew about Xan but not the spell. Which spell is it? I don't remember coming across anything like that.

Wish. One of the possible effects is to raise every party member's stats to 25 for 4 rounds. (Note that, like similar effects, it only affects the party, and not other friendly creatures like summons or clones.)

I completely forgot about that. I rarely use wish so that slipped under my radar. Thanks for the info.

The Strength spell granted by Wish is just a level 2 Strength spell (18 STR) for 20 minutes. It is also ONLY granted to the party member who talks to the genie. There is no Wish spell to raise Strength to 25.

ActionOverride(LastTalkedToBy,ForceSpellRES("spwish29",Myself)) // Strength

Actually, the effect I am talking about, I'm pretty sure, raises *all* stats to 25 to the *entire* party.

In particular, I am talking about "spwish08" (assuming the IESDP list is accurate), not "spwish29".

You're right, that spell does exist -- I'd never come across it. But it's so insanely overpowered that the percentage chance of getting it at all must be infinitesimal. There's only 2 possible Wish scrolls in BG2 (Watcher's Keep), so even Simulacrum and Project Image are not going to help, and who wastes a level 9 slot with Wish?

According to a .2da file included with GemRB, this effect requires 15 Wisdom to get, but otherwise it doesn't seem particularly more rare than any of the other good effects.

If you are using it for spell learning, these issues are not a problem; if you fail to get this effect before running out of spells, you can just rest and get your spells back (including any Project Image/Simulacrum effects). Don't forget that you can occasionally get free potions or wands this way (in Icewind Dale: Enhanced Edition, I was able to get a Potion of Superior Healing, which doesn't exist in the original IWD).

If you are using a Sorcerer, you can spend a 9th level spell pick on Wish, and then have that spell available if you need it without compromising your ability to cast other 9th level spells (at least until you run out). This can be very helpful, as Wish is the sort of spell that can save you in an emergency (for example, by reviving your entire party), but isn't needed in non-emergency situations (though it can be fun, especially if you have 18+ Wisdom to increase the chance of good effects).

Also, this effect doesn't seem too overpowered to me; Strength and Dexterity can be raised to high values in other ways that last longer (don't forget potions!), Constitution above 16 doesn't help non-fighter-types (and the regen effect isn't as good as the Restoration/Resurrection effects, plus that only matters if you happen to rest while it's in effect), and the Wisdom effect doesn't last long enough for you to actually memorize extra spells. More powerful effects include the one that restores your spells (which can give you more wishes), and the so-called Time Stop + Improved Alacrity effect (if you are not playing the EE, set auto-pause to "spell cast", cast Improved Alacrity, and now you get both 0 cast time and the removal of the 1 spell per round limitation, so you can now cast all your spells in 0 time).

(Side note: Did you know that the genies summoned by Limited Wish and Wish count against your summoning limit?)

Engerek01: Where did you get that ankheg armor hmm? ;)
If you kill Ankhegs, you can sell their scales to the smith in Bearghost or have that smith make an armor out of it for a lot of cash. You can also find a 'buried' set in Nashkel.

Thank you very much but that wasnt a real question. If someone gets that armor at level 2 or 3, that probably means they are following a guide since it is hard to find. I was meaning that. Hence the wink at the end.

Sure, when you're used to cheating and glitching that may be the case, but when you roll and play as I do it is horrendously overpowered, no matter how briefly it lasts.
I guess its time for an update.

So my team is the same but Jaheira is complaining about my heroic deeds and i've reached Baldur's Gate, All of my characters now have 1 or 2 enchanted items on them like Khalid with full plate armor and a long sword +2.
My team is just hitting level 5 though which is worrying considering how far i assume i am into the game.

Also for the Ankheg armor a friend told me about it and i decided to get it, Also i've had the electric hammer from bassilus for most of the game and am still using it, I also believe i have a frost giant strength potion which i hear is the best one so i'm saving it for the final battle to become insanely OP and one shot it.

You are making good progress in the main story. Stop doing that for awhile and go check out all those wilderness areas. You will get loot and exp.
