Hello everyone!

What do you think of this type of arrow? I've always overlooked them in favour of arrows of detonation or magical arrows, but I'm going give it a try. 30% of a monster's maximum HP will ravage some of the more beefy enemies. I haven't used them yet but my strategy is to have Imoen fire the arrows at multiple targets in a fight, as opposed to shooting one continuously until it dies.

The tick from the arrows will probably even hamper spell casters. I was a fool not to use them!

I also have an off topic question. If a monster requires a +1 weapon to hit, does the ammunition need to be enchanted or the launcher?

Edit: I'm referring to BG1 but differences between 1 and 2 are more than welcome.

If I remember correctly, the ammunition needs to be +1. I remember using normal arrows with +1 bows didnt work.

Arrows of Biting *are* anit-spellcaster arrows. They're not quite as deadly as Eldoth's poison arrows, but along with Acid Arrows, they will interrupt spellcasters if the poison takes hold.

Thanks for the info! Looks like my archers have a new best friend.
Trivia: There's a small "bug" in the original Baldur's Gate that arrows of biting get damage bonus from strength, so characters with high str (Minsc, Kivan, Ajantis or someone with gauntlets of ogre power) can inflict quite a lot of damage.

Is that per arrow, or per tick of extra damage? If it's per tick of extra damage, imagine what effect it would have at high Strength scores! (14 extra damage per second would be 84 extra damage per round, which would be rather absurd.)

Per arrow. The bonus is on the projectile, not the effect.

NB: This is corrected in plainab's BG1 Fix Pack.
