I don't think Larian needs a brave internet defender since they already have our vote of confidence with our money... We just suggest possible improvements.

nice, new patch is only 72MB, thanks. thats more like it.
i've been gaming for a few decades. when a game is in development or early access(still development) then it is not out of line to have to re-download or re-install an entire game. this day and age, having less than 100-200gb of free space on almost anything really shouldn't happen. so space should never be a problem. now, lets go back to the first hard drive i had in my first computer which was a whopping 2mb MFM. now, i have a total of 32tb storage but run a 500gb ssd as my system drive to keep things simpler for system reloads every 6 or so months to keep things running as it should be.

people that have complaints about having to re-download a 65gb game for an update really should just be thankful that this amazing game has been made available to the masses in it's unfinished state that is actually playable.

just my 2 cents worth ;)

This would be true if this game was made available to the beta testers for free - however the game was made available at full retail price. In my view this implies at least that the level of SUPPORT would be similar to the finished product. Issuing patches which are 65GB in size is sloppy - meaning we as developers are not going to take our dear time to make your life any easier - just re-download the game again.... and again.... and again.

This should have been written in capital letters on the selling page - YOU WILL BE REQUIRED TO RE-DOWNLOAD THE INSTALLATION FILES (65GB) ONCE A WEEK AS A MINIMUM.

This gives a bad taste to the whole early access idea. I've learned my lesson and I will not pull back the money as I think Larian are a great company - but I will not be participating in this exercise. Once the game is finished, I will start playing - and I really wanted to help.
there are two points here;
1. the game doesn't actually need to be redownloaded... a MUCH smaller patch would have done the same change without hitting anywhere near 65G

2. by making a massive patch they overloaded both Steam and Gog servers causing patches to time out... people would goto bed and get up in the morning to find the patch failed or still stuck at X%

yes the game is early access and yes silly mistakes are being made... thats human

for myself I know this is going to happen because I know what its like with the bubble system i.e, each little team has their bubble and they don't talk to each other... what gets under my skin is when some marketing person then goes on twiter and tells customers that the errors are because their computers are too slow or otherwise not up to standard
