I would say yes.

Sorry ,but I saw nothing on that link that would indicate that it possible to use the OMF editor with the GOG version.

I tried the OMF/GOG combo and it did not work. The file structure in GOG version is not at all like the original. I used the OMF with the original game to to make new skins, uniforms ect...ect. I used it for years to tweak the Rivers and Roads file to correct many of the quirks native to this game.

The only reason I got the GOG version was in hopes that they had corrected the sound card problem. They did a good job with that but it is still far from the great quality sounds the game had back when I still had a Turtle Beach sound card with the aural 3d drivers. For those who never heard the game with the correct drivers you don't know what you are missing. Trust me.

At this point I think I will finish the Squadron Commanders campaign I started with GOG and then go back to the original even if it does required fiddling with the registry to get the sounds to work.

At any rate thanks for the link. Happy Hunting.

PLEASE DISREGARD ANY COMMENT I MADE ABOUT USING THE OMF UTILITY WITH GOG/B17!!!!!!

I just discovered that the OMF utility has stopped working on my system.I already had a game highly modified with OMF BUT FOR REASONS UNKNOWN MY VISTA ULTIMATE NO LONGER RECOGNIZES OMF AS A PROGRAM WITH WHICH TO OPEN OMF FILES. IT MAY WELL BE POSSIBLE TO USE THE OMF UTILITY TO MODIFY GOG/B17.

I have to now figure out why Vista will no longer recognize OMF as a program. If and when I do then I may be able to use it with DOG's version. I am sorry for this misunderstanding.

Not sure about everyone else, but i had no problems installing OMF and the mods, directly into the GOG version.
