Hello, I'm curious about these games, and can't seem to identify the tone of the setting. Is this epic, high Fantasy adventure with noble goals and values like Tolkien ? Something grim and political like Game of Thrones ? Something else, more like D&D (Forgotten realms...) or something totally different ?

I know this is a very old post, but might as well answer in case it's interesting to someone, whether or not it's the OP.

Of the choices you gave, I'd put Avadon 1 and what I've played so far of 2 about halfway between Forgotten Realms and Game of Thrones. Definitely on the darker side, but not over-the-top grimdark, and fairly political. At the same time there is a very strong D&D influence.

Graphically it's not much to write home about but it's got it where it counts, tons of story, pretty open-ended, choices matter. You WILL piss people off, but you can often choose who.
