Does this game have you control more than one character at any point? I do not like to control a party. Want to know before buying this.

The player character may choose to avoid recruiting companions (as in: you may play 'solo'). Though, of course, the game will definitely become far more challenging.

Well by default you don't really "control" them: out of combat, it's just you doing the majority of interactions, with the companions only taking over where they have a higher skill than you.

In combat, by default the companions are computer-controlled, acting on some very basic directives you can set with each of them prior to combat (who to shoot first, when to heal, etc.). You CAN control them "manually" to a point, but you don't really ever need to.

You do get to choose what each individual is carrying and equipped with.

But as has been stated, you're free to tell all companions to get stuffed and play through the entire thing solo. It's definitely more challenging this way; however there are a couple of perks specifically for solo play, so it's not like the devs didn't consider this a viable possibility.
