I mentioned this in the steam forum, but no reply. I hoped that it would get answered more reliably there. So here again in the actual place to raise it. I hope this gets read by the developer.

Problem is regarding to the DualSense support, which is mentioned in some blogs and newsletters by the devs themselves. The Steam version of the game has support for the DualSense, as far as I can gather from the forum there and the reviews.

So the problem; The GOG version appears to have no such support. The DualSense is not even recognised by the game (wired through USB-C), just as any non-supported game would. It works when virtualised as an XBOX Controller, which strongly suggest the controller is not supported in the GOG version.
My comparison is Plague Tale Requiem, which I have installed alongside Asterigos in GOG Galaxy, and this game recognises the DualSense out of the box.

So question towards the dev:
- Is there a good reason for omitting DualSense support in the GOG version?
- If so, can this at least be mentioned in the store page? Currently there are public promises of features which are not present in the GOG version.

It's possible that it is supported through the steam controller API maybe. But yeah it is disappointing that it isn't supported here. If it is going through the Steam controller API, you can just run a non-steam game via steam and it should fix the problem though it isn't exactly what I would like to call a great solution.

Edit: tried it as an added game in steam and it didn't work as a dual sense :( I am guessing the dual sense modules aren't in the GoG version. I'll be pretty upset at them if they don't put it in as there isn't any reason it shouldn't be included. IIRC there are some games on GoG that do use dual sense.

Plague Tale Requiem has support when running from GOG Galaxy, so at least it is clear that steam is not a requirement. PT:R also has very obvious haptic feedback (the sling), so it was easy to determine it was actual support and not virtualised as a generic controller.
Steam may simply be an easy way to add DualSense support, I have no idea whether that is a thing or not. Thanks for testing the non-Steam route btw.

I also made a bug report on their Discord, hope the devs can at least answer why this is not included and whether this is possible to add.

Same is true for Epic version, needs DualSenseX to emulate Xbox controller.
