Does this work on a LAN for multiplayer without needing to connect to the internet? This seems like a game my eldest and I could play together.

Doesn't look like it does, during its one year exclusivity the only way to do the co-op multiplayer thing was through EGS' servers. And now that it is available on GoG, through GoG's servers.

No way around Galaxy (meaning that an online internet connection is required) I'm afraid.

I like Galaxy but if it is required for multiplayer I think I will refrain from purchasing this game for now unless the price drops a LOT. I like multiplayer games that are playable between computers without having to connect outside. My eldest and I play Terraria and Torchlight II together a lot and really have fun.
