From Chris Zawada's walkthrough: "To move onto Level 3, it's going to take some speed. Move to the center hallway and continue down until you see 2 Hidden Buttons against the
same wall. Hit both of them, RUN north to the center Portcullis and try to make it in time before both buttons pop out. If can't make it in time, try again.BOTH buttons must be pressed for the door to open, and they will pop out after 8 seconds or so."

I got stuck here. I see no way to avoid being impaled in the passage where you have to run north. No matter if I jump or crouch, I get impaled. And, though that is not lethal at the 1st 2 tries, it does make it impossible to make it to the gate in time. I know that I am having a handicap here, as I am very poor at Arcade-type games, so any help, like exact right place to start the jump would be very welcome, or I'll be stuck here forever ;-(

BTW, I already have killed all Ylsides in the fort (except for Akbaa's room) and all at Akbaa's Temple, did Lord Inut's site Quest etc, so have already come quite far.

I don't know if it'll work, but it's worth a try. Try to find a brick or stone or something. Toss it onto the pressure plate thingy and then move as quickly as you can to the two buttons (make sure that the stone actually causes the spikes to come out). Then, just head down the middle passage.

I think placing something on the plate will keep it depressed, and will thus prevent it from activating again.

Again, though, I'm not entirely sure that will work.

Yes that worked, thank you very much for the tip! (and for your fast reply).
In fact, I used my shovel. Now just hope that I will not need a shovel before I come back to a place where I can but another ;-)
