Hello, All!

I am brand new to GOG and to downloading games in general. I was a huge fan of the Neverhood and found the site based purely on keeping up with Armikrog development.

I pre-ordered early and downloaded the game yesterday, but I have yet to figure out how to actually get it to run. I see the 1.2GB file in my downloads, but when I click on it, it doesn't do anything (just a spinning circle in the middle of the screen for several minutes). I tried downloading the onsite downloader as well but have the same result - just a spinning circle for a few minutes followed by nothing. Should I be looking for some sort of smaller "launcher" file (like a .bin file or or something) in addition to the game?

I am running a laptop with Windows Vista, and all of the security settings are turned off (also tons of available memory). Admittedly, I know very little about computers (as is evident in my use of ancient technology), but I've done everything I can think of as to searching the forums here. Sorry for the "noobidity", but any advice would be much appreciated! Looking forward to finally playing!

Give it a minute or so .. the game did it to me to but it seems it takes a few for it to start. Not sure why but eventually it will start the install.

Thanks for the reply! Ok, I tried it again and waited around 30 minutes. I then deleted the download, re-downloaded, and have now been waiting nearly an hour. I'm thinking I must be missing something or maybe I need to change a setting?

OK, finally got it to work. If anyone else has this problem with Vista, I ended up dragging the link to the file onto my desktop and running as administrator in XP compatibility mode. Less than 3 minutes and it started installing.

I was about to say turnoff your antivirus. when I disabled mine the game started right up, no waiting
