True, Maverick89.

See you.
I'm asking for a refund now. I expected this game would get support for missing features later, not a declaration that it's the inferior version.
The developers seem to have abandoned the game in its current state here and yes: Take it from the catalogue at all. There is no need for this. Ah and by the way: Age of Wonders 3 should be also removed, same reason here.

Aow 3 has the current stable steam patch and all the DLCs. It's missing the beta patch which is only a week old. I wouldn't call that abandoned. Was there an announcement to that effect?

Age of Wonders 3 will not get the native version for Linux which is available exclusive over Steam and the developers said, that they are not able or willing to invest work in a DRM-free built. Linux-customers are therefore left alone! The developers for Armello have done this now for their complete game: Okay it will get updates but no more content because they want use Steamworks instead trusting the customers. And there are more examples here also on GOG for games where the developers or Studios or even GOG itself left the users completely alone.

AoW 3 is in no way exceptional when it comes to missing Linux versions for games. With that attitude you might as well add a few more fistfuls of titles on top.

No offense, but there is a difference between not releasing a version for Linux - no problem at all - and releasing a native version but denying any DRM-free built because it would be a "problem" (that is the argumentation of the developers). But this thread is not about Age of Wonders 3, it was just an example. ;)

Yes, sorry to derail. After a second and third look; I understand what you meant now.

I completely agree. Why does GOG.com continue to sell this game? I don't want a developer like this on the store. They have misrepresented their game, changing it to the "DRM free edition" after the fact and dropping support, though they never disclosed this would be the case before hand.

Frankly everyone who wants one should be entitled to a refund.

Kickstarter backers are not receiving a refund...

(the devs are weaseling out of that one by claiming the steam version is drm free)

It's asshole devs that pull stunts like this that made me swear never to pledge to another Kickstarter campaign ever.
