Everything is black with blacker boxes that if i click changes the screen. I get the outlines of menu options but do not see what they are, plus it shows a video in the beginning that is blueish or something? Then black with grey white outlines detailing people and objects and trees..

I can handle ARMA 2 why not the 1st Gold?

Did you try running the game in administrator mode?
I am having the same problem and I have tried it in administrator mode, I have also tried various resolutions with no success.

So I did a little research and found that if you have two video cards you have to make sure arma is set to run with the correct one.
I had this problem with the demo. I'm on a laptop with a dedicated and an integrated graphics card, but only one runs at a time.

I did some research also, and found the solution would be to limit the maximum system ram on msconfig.

This is why I didn't buy this game yet., and won't if this is not fixed.
Thats really interesting..ive run ArmA/OpFlash on multiple PC with both high and low specs. Im running it on one pc with two video cards at the moment and I dont get that problem. I evben though that PC had two video cards Ive configured it to only use the most powerful video card as the main default display card (why would you posibly want to use a weaker card anyway?)

Never heard of this problem before so it must be triggered by a very specific kind of set-up thats not very common....set one card as the default display and the problem will go..otherwise just try anonther comp...ArmA will run on anything...thats the beauty of it..no system requrement worries

Did the videos on YouTube on how to do that, did not work, did it with admin, did not work and Slord's did not do anything. Now I got a new Computer, Windows 7, Installed, and it worked kinda, but everything was blurry. Now on the 2ed and further start up's back to the orig problem, and I tried the solutions with this computer.

I have no idea, then. Did you try checking the official forums? It may be the only place left to get some help.
Bunch of random ideas I have tried and no success I mean common though I have the i5 hyper threading, 6 gigs why can't I run this???
I haven't had this problem, myself, but you might take a look at this thread and this official troubleshooting guide, which mention the problem and offer some apparently successful workarounds.

Could you please send an email with a DxDiag attached to our Support department along with details as to exactly what happens when you try to run the game. Thanks and sorry to hear the game is giving you trouble :(
