I get this error message when trying to run arma2OA.exe, " Cannot open file 'C:\Games\ARMA II - Combined Operations\\dta\bin.pbo' "

I installed, then ran arma2.exe, then went to run OA's exe and I get this error.
I can run combined operations (that launcher)

I uninstalled and reinstalled already, I did it a third time and verified the integrity, it's fine.

I had this same problem. I googled the error and found a forum thread that helped a lot. It seems that gog won't allow me to post links so let me quote the thread:

At [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Bohemia Interactive Studio\ArmA 2 OA\Expansions\ARMA 2 OA] if the MAIN entry that stores the path ends with a backslash you will get the error.
GOOD MAIN:
E:\Games\CapsuleGames\ARMA II Operation Arrowhead - PC
BAD MAIN:
E:\Games\CapsuleGames\ARMA II Operation Arrowhead - PC\

(Open regedit.exe and change the registry value that is mentioned above. Worked for me, although the value wasn't in that exact registry location. Look around and you should be able to find it.)

Haven't had this issue, but judging from the double backslash and the suggested fix it look to me that using regedit as described will to the work. If you're running XP, look in:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Bohemia Interactive Studio

It might also be a good idea to look at all file paths you find here (including sub keys - i.e.. ...\Arma 2\BattleEye etc):

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Bohemia Interactive Studio
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Bohemia Interactive

...and make sure no path end with a backslash.

For anyone who has this problem and can't find the "Bohemia Interactive Studio" key in regedit then do this:

1. select HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
2. use "find" (Ctrl+F3)
3. enter Bohemia Interactive as search string
4. search for keys only
5. search...

..if you find something with has "SOFTWARE" and "Bohemia Interactive" in the key path you're probably at the right place.. :-) Correct any file paths as described above. (hit F3 to continue to search if you need)

Hope that helps! :-)

PS. If anyone still can't get it to work you can send a PM and I'll try to guide you through it.
