I just cleaned out the ancient temple and now I need to decide what weapons to keep and which ones to sell. The weapons my companions want to use do a lot more damage but they don't meet the MSR unless they don't use a shield. But when i remove the shield their attack rating doesn't change but their defense rating goes down.

So what is the penalty for using a weapon when you don't meet the MSR?
