Hello.

I recently purchased and installed the GOG version of Arcanum. After installation, it launches just fine, although cutscenes seem to be impossible to watch. The sound plays, but all I get is a black screen. The actual gameplay runs just fine though.

However, when I try launching the game again, I hear the sound of the intro starting, and then it suddenly crashes. It doesn't even get to the first loading screen. I've tried running it with admin privleges, but I've had no luck. Same with changing compatibility modes, it still crashes on startup. I've also tried adding the "-no3d -doublebuffer" to the properties, but that didn't aid me either.

I don't think it has anything to do with my video card either, since I was able to run it just fine on startup, although with no visible cutscenes, as I mentioned before. I'll post some specs below in an attempt to help however.

Thanks in advance.

OS: Windows 7 64-bit
Graphics: Nvidia 560m
Processor: Intel I7

Nevermind, I guess it was the video card. Switching over to my laptop's integrated graphics seemed to miraculously fix the crashes and the cutscene issue. I guess that works.
