At startup the game has 3 small intro movies. 2 are about company logo's and one other. To skip them without having to click Escape 3 times every time you load the game, I did the following:

1. at .\modules\Arcanum\movies I renamed the file 50000.bik to _50000.bik
2. at .\modules\Arcanum\data i created a folder called TIGCache , within that a folder movies. Both folder I set to read only. Then I created a new text file and renamed that (incl. extension) to SierraLogo.bik , then in the same way I created TroikaLogo.bik . Both files I also set to read only.
These are off course fake files, so when the game starts the files will be skipped.

Sorry if this is old info, didn't see any topic about it at first glance.

Thanks for the info datiswous.

Just one thing: on my install i don't have a .\modules\Arcanum\data, just a .\data folder (inside the game folder). So i did what you wrote on the second step, but replacing .\modules\Arcanum\data by .\data.
It works great.

The read only thing is just to prevent the game from remove the TIGCache directory entirely.

I've always just clicked the space bar instead. Never bothered me much, especially with the speed the game loads now on modern machines; I can still remember when the bulk of the waiting time was for the load screens instead.
There are two ways around it.

1) Install the latest High Resolution Patch. It's got an option to disable all 3 movie clips.

2) Download the following file and put it into the same folder as Arcanum.exe. Note that this will only skip Sierra/Troika logos, but not the main menu intro clip.
