Does anyone know if, with this latest Hotfix - which improves the game's compatability with newer systems -, both the unofficial patch and the HighRes patch are still needed? Or, do they break the game's Hotfix fixes?

For me it broke HighRes then after uinstalling and installing again this patch the game lags significantly and is unplayable for me.

Looking for solution right now.

Bummer. I mean, it's not like it's impossible playing in 4:3 but, Widescreen would be nice. :-)

If you use the ddraw wrapper included with highres, it works fine again. Or you can just rollback the version to a previous version and go back to what you did before.

In that case, do we have the option of not installing the October 5th hotfix?

We absolutely have the ability to not install the hotfix. I've not installed it. I use the download manager so I can choose what I want to install and when I want to update it. Plus no program on my computer watching and reporting everything I do.

In GOG Galaxy settings for Arcanum you have 3 versions to choose from. And it even says how old are they.

From what I understand the hotfix is to update the windows 10 compatibility.
