Hi all! Just picked this up.

Is there anything I should do to make it compatible with windows 10?

Are there any must-have mods that fix things and/or add good stuff like widescreen funcitonality?

Community fix patches?

And did GOG do anything to this game to make it better like they do for so many others?

And lastly..... this chat window opens up in the top left corner for some insane reason... is there any way to detach it so that I can drag it to a more pleasing and useful location so I don't have to stare up and to the left?

LOL, thanks all :)

You can download the original UAP, which is mostly bugfixes, here.

But it's recommended you download the UAP 2.0, which adds a bunch of new content instead. Link, here.

Both were created by Drog Black Tooth; the original is over 10 years old, while the newest version came out earlier this year. It's almost like a separate DLC, with additional player race options and a few other tweaks.

Does the second include the changes of the first?

Of course.

And it has one of my favorite tweaks, as a long-time player: When you enter the capital city of Tarant, you start on the city side of the bridge, instead of having to cross the entire bridge to enter the city each time. Since you're likely to visit Tarant dozens of times per game, that simple tweak alone will save you an immense amount of frustration.
