As topic title. I'm playing a 1/2 Ogre character and my armor is starting to wear out. Every time I get it repaired, it's ending up with fewer and fewer total points. So, is there anywhere to buy or otherwise obtain large sized armor for my 1/2 Ogre? He's level 32 and he's starting to get worried that he may end up running around in his skivvies. I don't have a lot of areas unlocked yet (only around 18) and haven;t found any place that sells large armor. Any help is appreciated, and no worries if it involves spoilers.

*edit* Oh, and if it makes a difference, my character is magic-oriented with close to a 50 score on the magic scale.

IIRC there are stores that sell large magical armor in Caladon, but you won't unlock that town until about midway through the storyline.

There are plenty of stores that have large leather armor in their goods list, too. If you can't find some, just wait for their inventory to respawn.

If you really can't find any, maybe there are mods to help you here
Some shops are better at repairing than others. I believe that the armorsmith in Tarant can probably repair your armor without lowering its max health. I've heard that the magical armor smith in Tarant is even better. I used the standard armor smith for repairs and almost never had the max health of the item lowered... it would sometimes go from 100 to 99 or something but never anything big.
Waltorious, yeah I've discovered that as well. I always go back to the smith in Tarant now.

Mystral, thanks for the answer. Of course, after I posted and fired the game up, a couple merchants had large sized armor in their inventories. I bought a couple suits and have back-ups stored in a safe spot now.

Hey, has either of you ever decided to kill one of the gypsies? Man, they carry a LOT of gold. I did it just to see what they'd drop, and wow. Reloaded and left her alive though, as my guy's a good aligned 1/2 ogre. But if I decide to run evil through this at another time...

Another good smith choice in Tarant (and possibly a cheaper option, and if not, at least closer to the entrance) is the Junk Dealer.

I believe if you kill on the gypsies though none of the rest of them will talk to you/sell you things. And so you'll lose out on a source of some really powerful magic items.

small and large armor is some of the hardest in the game to find, the best and easiest to find armour is for those that are "average" sized. i personally have never rolled a dwarf or ogre for this very reason. add to that the crafted items dont come in large and small varieties either and its truely not worth the hassle. not to mention the like/dislike penalties you have throughout the game.

Not true! If you craft armor, the armor size you start with is the armor size you'll get. So if you are making a healing jacket for example, if you start with a large leather armor you'll end up with a large healing jacket. Same with small sizes.

really? im not sure when that got added then, since i personally dont know; a buddy of mine rolled a dwarf and was not able to make armor of the correct size

Well it's actually not obvious... I was completely confused as to how to do it at first. The thing to realize is that every piece of crafted armor starts from another piece of armor, so if you get the small or large size of the starting piece, you'll get the same size of the crafted item.

Also, some crafting recipes are very specific. For example the healing jacket requires leather armor, but you can't use a guard's leather armor. Which is annoying because the guard's leather is lightly better than standard leather so most players dump their leather and then later on find they can't craft the healing jacket.
