It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

This game worked perfectly up until I upgraded my graphic card from an Nvida to an AMD.
Now I am unable to save my game because when I start to play, the cursor will turn from gold to a kind of purplish pixelized blob.

When I hit ESC, the entire menu is purplish and I can't click on the "save game" button.

I have tried updating the card with the latest updates.
I have tried the double buffer addition on the shortcut.
I've installed the patch.
I've installed the high graphics
I've Run as Admin
Set to be compatible with Windows 7

Nothing seems to work. Suggestions or tips would be very much appreciated.

Windows 10
RX 480 8gb
Dell XPS

Try disabling AMD CrossFireX in Catalyst Control Center.

Sorry for asking a noob question but where would I find this?

Do I download it? The closest I seem to find is "AMD Settings"

My error. Launch AMD Radeon Settings and select the "Gaming" tab, then click on "Global Settings": there you should be able to disable Crossfire.

Thank you so much for your patience with me but I took a screenshot of what my options were and I did not see the word Crossfire.

Would it be under something else?

I based my suggestion on this. It might not be the right clue to solve your problem, I am sorry.

That user say: «Some high-end cards, like the one I'm using, have a crossfire within a single card.» I thought this could be your case too but, since CrossFire should be active only if you have two (or more) GPUs, I am not sure about its statement anymore.

I only have the one graphic card so. . . .maybe that's why Crossfire isn't an option?

Precisely.
I am sorry, my suggestion didn't help you at all. Yet, I feel that the solution is hidden among the graphic card settings.
I don't know much about the XPS line, but if it has a Intel Video card as well, I would suggest using that. On my laptop I can choose to use either or for gaming.

And also I would suggest using the ddraw patch as well if your not using it.

http://bitpatch.com/ie_ddrawfix.html
Just rename the orginal ddraw.dll to something else and drop this into the Arcanum folder.
I second the ddraw patch, a lot of Arcanum problems can be solved by replacing the Direct X direct draw library (ddraw.dll) with one that is more accepting of different hardware setups. Similar fixes are available for just about any pre-DirectX 10\Windows Vista game and can work miracles when trying to get an old game to run on a modern system.
This resembles what happens whenever I install with the wrong resolution on the hi-res patch.

Try reinstalling it or redoing it with a lower resolution amount (maybe 1600-900).
