Hello,

I bought the game 2 days ago and played it since. Was working fine perfectly.
Even without Unoffical patch.

Today i tried to launch it : nothing. The game force me back to desktop, keeping minimzing the game for no reason.
I never had that before. Tried without antivirus. Tried uninstalling/reinstalling. Tried with Unoffical Patch.

Still can't play.

Any ideas or am i doomed ?

Edit : Summoner whom i bought with Arcanum has the same problem too. Played it fine, now can't anymore.
Game keep on minimizing. Even after installing Timeslip Patch.

Edit 2 : and for an unknown reason, after reloading my computer and doing a CCcleaner, it works again ...

This time it didn't worked.

35h of gameplay and now i can't play anymore.

Just wow...

Edit : and Summoner is bugging again too...

Typically the minimizing is caused by another program. It could be almost any program causing this or it could even be a virus. I would be willing to bet that it is not Arcanum especially since you say you are having bugs on another game.

How can i manage to identify which program is having the priority causing this ?

This is unfortunately a hard one to pin down. I'll give an example.
I love playing the Elder Scrolls game Oblivion.

I at the time was using windows 7 64 bit and kapersky as my antivirus.
A little while after Windows 10 came out I started having stuttering trouble in games including Oblivion. I also had issues where the game would flash out to desktop. Oblivion is from the same timeframe and once it gets minimized it becomes unresponsive so you lose all your playtime since the last time you saved.

It turns out that Kapersky had updated to closer match windows 10 therefore was now causing issues on windows seven.
The only way to fix that was to disable Kapersky while I was playing.(also issues with causing stuttering in Tropico 5)

The fix was I was forced by work to update to windows 10 as I had to now work from home due to COVID. Once I did that the issues went away.

I'm using Avast and tried to deactivate absolutely everything i could (like internet too) yet it changed nothing.
Tried uninstalling : same.

Was there something more than Kapersky ?

Welp. Some days it work, some days it doesn't i guess i'll keep having it on trying each day and profit when possible.

I would be willing to bet it might be a backup program or your antivirus scanning. I wish I could be more help but something you have running is causing it. You can test everything not operating system and virus program by using msconfig to change what starts up automatically.

Dont know if you ever fixed this, but i was having the exact same problem, but with windows 10. Fixed by changing my desktop resolution to 800x600. It was just bugging out jumping between resolutions, or thats what it seemed like with mine.

Hey sorry for forgetting to come back, the problem was actually coming from my screen which i changed since then and now i don't have a problem anymore. Though i recently came on Win10 now and haven't tested my games yet.
