As of topic but not only I can't see anything but a half black screen but the subtitles overlap each other and remain on screen and I can't see the game or character models.

I had the same problem and a very poor performance. This is what I did and it works now very well:
- Installed the Unofficial Arcanum Patch by Drog Black Tooth.
- Added the command line arguments "-no3d -doublebuffer" to the game.
- Replaced the ddraw.dll file with Aqrit'sDDrawFix.
It now works very well. However this was before the most recent patch. I still use the 1.0.7.4 version of the game.
