Simply place this folder from the zip file into your Arcanum\data folder.

Over 170 portraits, mostly from victorian era paintings and photographs for every race/sex combination except female half-orc. Because it was difficult to find victorian paintings of people who look like half-orcs or half-ogres, athletes or people afflicted with giantism were used.

This is a preview of a mod I am looking to host, which rebalances the game entirely, changing almost every monster, item, and spell in the game. It is completed and I'm in discussions with a Terra-Arcanum moderator about it, so look for it to be available quite soon.

Also I'd love to hear what you think about the portraits!

I'd installed a portrait pack once before, and while I appreciated having all the extra choices, it annoyed me to no end that all the additional options had been left uncoded. Which meant that if I decided that I wanted to use Portrait X, I had to cycle through portraits A thru W just to get to it.

Is this portrait pack the same way, or have yours been sorted (however arbitrarily) by race and/or gender?

In Arcanum portraits must be limited by race and gender, at least that's the only way I know how to do it.

They would've had to duplicate every portrait for each and ever race/gender combo to get to what you're talking about, where male/elf and female/elf and human/male etc all have the same portrait selection? I mean it's doable but it's like multiplying the work for the convenience of using any portrait on any character.

In short, mine is over 10 portraits for each race/gender combination, each limited to that type.
All the portraits look pretty cool, ewmarch!

And when you get your full mod up let us know - I would love to see a total change of Arcanum!

Actually, I still have the file (I probably found it on Terra-Arcanum) and each portrait is coded ANY, which apparently makes them accessible to every class and race. At some point, I kept meaning to go through the collection and reassign most or all of them, if for no other reason than my own personal brand of OCD.

So I see. Thank you for taking the time; +1 from me for your dedication.

The link just takes me back to the first post in this thread.
Clicking the link did not work for me either. So I copied and pasted it.

Likewise.
Fixed it thanks. GOG forums do that if you use the freakin url forum tag.

Also thanks for telling me about the ANY coding for portraits.

The file in the link is no longer there, it just takes you to the main site page.

Does anyone have an alternate link for it? Or for that matter, any other portrait pack links you know of?

I already have the single one from terra arcanum, but I'm looking for more choices.

Thanks!
Sometimes the ANY coding is desirable. If you have a portrait that might be a human or might be an elf or might be a half-elf or might be a halfling, you might want it to be available for any race and class combination.
Put it up again.
