I'm in quite a pickle. I was on my way to do a quest. When arriving at the quest location, I did a quick save as I usually do, only to notice I lost my doggo companion somewhere along the way. I backtracked to Tarant where I was before, nowhere to be found. It's not in Ashbury where you recruit it either.

Help, is there some way to get the mutt back, even if it involves cheats?

Install the virgil debug chat into your \Arcanum folder, then talk to Virgil. He should be able to fix this for you.

I did that but none of the options seem helpful - restoring the story to other point or uncovering the whole map didn't help.

Not sure but it might be that you have to go back to the location where he's originally found in the first place.
