Hi,

so I downloaded the game using the GoG downloader, then installed it with default settings. When trying to start the game I got an error saying 'Arcanum has stopped working." After reading some support threads I uninstalled, re-downloaded with my browser, disabled UAC and installed the game to a location other than program files. I still receive the same error message! I did try running in compatibility mode, and I tried adding the -no3d -doublebuffer switches to the shortcut.

Any advice?
P.S. I did not install any fan made patches or mods.

What was the fix? I was going to suggest running as administrator, but that shouldn't be necessary if you installed outside of program files. Was it something else? Posting the solution can help others who might run into problems and come to these forums looking for fixes.

It would be really nice of you to tell us what fixed it :c
