The $1000 stretch goal has been reached, and Unofficial Arcanum Patch 2.0 has been released!

What's New:
- Now includes an optional "Race Mod" module.
- [Race Mod] Orcs, Ogres and Dark Elves can now be selected during character creation.
- [Race Mod] These three races now get unique reaction modifiers just like the other races.
- [Race Mod] These races can now use unique DE, OG, OC markers for portraits and backgrounds.
- [Race Mod] Various cut portraits from pre-release versions of the game have been assigned to these races.
- [Race Mod] Added race based insults for Orcs, Ogres and Dark Elves.
- [Race Mod] Orcs are given Barbarian Clothes during character creation, since they can't wear suits.
- [Race Mod] Added race checks for these races to various dialogs and scripts throughout the game, so that they advance through the quests and the game acknowledges their race.
- [Race Mod] Added 3 new pregenerated characters: a female gnome, a female halfling (both using 70% scale female human sprites) and also one very special gentleman.
- Added an option in the installer to raise the level cap from 50 to 100.
- Added an option in the installer to disable combat music.
- Fixed the problem with the 'Attack' command in the follower context menu acting as 'Walk'.
- Equipping barbarian armor on an ugly character no longer causes everyone to attack you on sight (but the reaction penalty still applies).
- Increased the effect.mes limit from 400 to 1000 for better mod support.
- [High Resolution Patch] defaulted to the software renderer for better compatibility with modern systems.

Don't suppose you know what to do about this error message I got when I tried to install the patch, do you?

"Extract: Error writing to file Villages.mp3"

Do you think it could be because I previously installed the 1.5 patch? I'm really psyched to try out the new patch, but I can't get it to work :p

Yeah, it's most likely the reason why it doesn't work. I recommend doing a clean install and applying the patch.

BTW, here's a sort of infograph Daegon made a few weeks ago if anyone wants to use it for planning builds and such (for beginners it's a perfect guide): https://i.imgur.com/GJkdIXR.png
Amazing work. Wish I had time to replay games, not a thing in the last decade and don't think that change soon... :<

And of course ToEE modders acting weird, as usual. Played their "masterpiece" called Circle of Eight and the latest version goes ball to the walls with the content.
Does this mod also fix the bugs and crashes of the game?

Click on download and then choose one of the two mirrors., it will download an .exe. Once downloaded you just need to click on it and it will run. It should find your installation of arcanum automatically and install automatically.

Didn't even know the UAP was still in development. Thanks.

About the recently reached Hard Mode / Rebalance Patch stretch goal, what are the key ways it'll differ from Leonidusx's Arcanum Equilibrium Rebalance Mod?

Reading the Components section of the website has me wondering... what mods, patches, etc. does this make obsolete? I was in the middle of composing a proper installation list for when future me inevitably has my second playthrough. It sounds like ArcanumBeta, Extra Animations Pack, AB's ambient sounds file (ArcanumBeta2.dat), and EAP's small machine plate animations fix (Critters) are no longer needed.

While we're at it, what's no longer compatible? I'm assuming we're still supposed to install the Official Patch.

Edit: I assume the 7 modules are all of the modules available for the game (Buried Secrets, Dusty Dunes, Hellgate, Time, Woodmir Race, etc.)?

Howdy folks,

I've been both wondering and wandering around the Multiplayer option disappearing after installing this patch. Couldn't find an answer yet. As I'm seeing a comment on the notes for the Version 080502 referencing this feature, I'm assuming that is supposed to be an available game mode. And even though the prospect of playing the main story in cooperative is the definitive dream (I've gone deep down into several rabbit holes on many forums teasing about this possibility), I'm just talking about (as my idiot savant would call it) Vermin Town in this particular occasion. On the GOG version without the patch we were able to start the multiplayer session using GameRanger, but when attempting the same steps with the latest patch installed, the user that isn't hosting never enters the game, it keeps loading while on the GR room, seemingly waiting to join.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. The brief run that we just made brought a big old nostalgic smile to this old geezers face.

Hello,
If I"m not mistaken the option was removed by the patch.

Well, that's a bummer... Thank you for letting me know. I would gladly accept any suggestions in order to expand the lonely module that to my knowledge remains the whole extent of the Arcanum Multiplayer experience as of today. Thanks again.
What's the best way to play Arcanum in 2020? So many conflicting mods these days.

Use Drog's Unofficial Patch 2.0.2. Anything else brings in more bugs and isn't worth it (like Multiverse, which in fact uses Drog's patches/mods but adds some unnecessary things as well and is buggy plus it's often seen as a trojan by antivirus software).

Using Drog's, it's great! Seems a lot more improved than it was about 10 years ago.

There was a post here: https://terra-arcanum.com/forums/threads/remove-follower-count.16046/

that described how to uncap the follower limit, trying it did not work. Any idea about the new Hex address?
