But I found all the Aquanox games very entertaining, but sadly not everyone agrees with me. :(

I loved the game, and after a feeled 10 times playing through i cheated my way through the game just for the fun.
What i liked especialy was the fact that the Turrets could be used for different jobs, or just plain as another Frontal weapon.. Something i missed in Wing Commander Privateer. I also liked the Setting, unfortunatly it seems that the deep sea is not as cool as Space: The Final Frontier.

Not sure how the PC version was, but there as this Dreamcast game called Deep Fighter that... had a linear mission progression, but the missions themselves and the game world were quite open. Similar to this. More puzzles and adventure elements though.
