I cannot run this game. When I do I get a "Apotheon has stopped working" box

I've had no problems running many other games from GOG and Steam. I've tried reinstalling, and I've reinstalled all Visual C++ runtimes (from 2005, 2008, 2010, 2012 & 2013, & both x86 and x64).

Even tried running it as a different user. Same result every time.

I really want to play this, please help.

Just tried downloading it from the website directly rather than through galaxy and it works. It even plays through galaxy now. I'm guessing the galaxy download is different somehow.

I had this issue as well. Was really worried that my windows install was becoming corrupt. Looks like it's not on my end and GoG Galaxy is pulling from a corrupt file. I downloaded from the main site and it works fine now, can also confirm it now runs in Galaxy after main site install. Thanks for finding a workaround and posting it!

I'm happy this helped someone. I did try to mark my second post as a solution but for some reason there's no option to mark your own posts like this.
That work for me, too. Thank you.
I don't know if I should post this here as a solution, but when installed from galaxy, it didn't install the XNA_40 from the redist folder in the game folder, so it wouldn't start. So I just installed it manually, and it fixed it, (also fixed Tropico 3 in the process, which also wouln't start cause it was missing directx9 dlls).
