Hi

I have 2 problems with my Joystick (Cougar Flightstick with throttle).

First I can chosse to use the throttle under preferences, but it works "in the opposite direction".
Meaning when I try to increase (push up) the throttle it goes down.

Secondly the throttle in game is oversensitive. When I move it just a little bit it gives wild increases and decreases.

Anyone else having joystick problems? Maybe I should just by a CH Flighstick Pro ?.....;)

But actually the problem can maybe be solved in the config file in the Apache folder?
I would realy like to use my joystick!

Thanks.

Ok, I seemed to have solved the problem, at least partially.
I changed the default joystick in the DasBox cinfiguration file.
Originally it is set to "auto" , I nnow set it to "ch", which is the CH Flightsick emulation mode.

I now have the throttle working in the correct direction (non-reversed).
And the oversensitivity is also much better.
I would very much like to hear from others or from gog.com, as the the throttle is still very sensitive. There must be a way to include a dea zone (?) in some config file?
My joystick software does not seem to allow me to "de-sensitize" my throttle.....:(

I have a similar issue, the BUTTONS are over sensitive for me Button 2 on my config changes the weapon mode but just pressing it once just goes nuts. I have to use the keyboard, it isnt as bad on hind though.
Yeah, I have the proplem with the over sensitive button as well.....
Same here, joystick works fine, but buttons are oversensitive. It happens the same with an Xbox 360 controller. I guess that's an issue we'll have to live with XD

Calibrate your controllers! You have to move all axes in all directions, because the game sets the limits manually by stretching the calibration box. So, move your throttle from 0 to 100 and back in the preferences screen. Same with X/Y and pedal axes.

If you need to reverse axis you can do it via the DOSBOX mapper - ctrl+f1
Thanks Tolya, but that does not solve the problem with the oversensitive button.
But for all readers: you can use the L key for that function, which works pretty well.

Hmm, what do you exactly mean by an "oversensitive" button? It's either pressed or not. Or do you mean an axis is too sensitive? Or an axis has no or too small deadzone?

Axis deadzones and sensitivity data are stored in prefs.cfg file in the main directory of the game, you can also try tweaking there.
I solved my personal joystick-axis problems by switching the joystick selection from "auto" to "ch" in the DosBox config file, as described above.

What remains are problems with the joystick buttons.
Generally they all respond, but most respond like being set to autofire. and in that regard they respond different. The fire button seems to work fine
The one for weopn selection workl like being set to slow autofire. This is manageable, though I would prefer no autofire for the weopon selection button.
The one to cycle through your targets responds like being set to fast autofire. This is difficult to handle, but is is barely acceptable. The one where you lock or unlock on a target works like being set to very fast autofire(switching from locked to unlocked mode back and forth several times in a second). This is so fast that you really can not use the button, but you can use the "L" key on the keyboard instead. A barely acceptable alternative.

BTW, autofire is set to "false" in the DosBox config file in the joystick section.
And thanks for the support!

He means, when you press joystick button - the game registers many presses at once.

Exactly that is the problem.
Sorry that I answer only now, but I had given up hope of getting help.

Thanks,

I noticed this problem too, if you push joystick button 2 it lightning cycles through the weapons which is annoying.
I solved it by binding the Enter key to joystick button 2 and delete the button 2 function in the keymapper.

Thank you so much, this sounds like a workable solution!
