How well does this work with Windows 8?
I only ever testet Anno 1503 on Windows 8 and because of the missing acceleration for 16 bit applications it ran subpar. Which is a shame, since I played it for hours and hours as a kid. Atleast with Anno 1503 you could do a registry edit to atleast make it better and playable. Still not perfect though. How well does Anno 1602 perform?

The game does work, but there are some small problems.

For one, i can't seem to alt-tab or ctr-esc or anything else while in game.
So you're basically stuck in it until you exit the game.
I got around that by using a program that forces the game into windowed mode ( DXwrapper).
In this case however you are stuck with a window at the max resolution of 1024 x 768.

There's also a problem with sound effects, one that i also had with my old copy if i installed it on win8.
Problem is that only some sound effects can be turned down with the in game volume slider.
Some are not affected which means that you probably have to keep everything maxed and turn down the volume trough windows.

So far it hasn't crashed though.
