Does this game's multiplayer have LAN support?
Now that the game is released, what's the status on LAN support?
We do not plan on supporting LAN games. We wanted to have it, but our plans got so tight, that we had to drop something :(

Maybe you can add it later at the end of the development of the dlc?

Hey, DC_vipeout, I understand completely, but if you'll add LAN support, this is a sure buy from me. As of now, I wouldn't know what to do with the game, as I don't like online only multiplayer

We'll see, but I cannot promise anything. If we ever add it, I'll make sure it's properly advertised. For now, it is the way it is.
hm, not sure if i buy that exlanation ;)

for multiplayer as it is, each player needs a bought version of the game to be able to connect.
With a lan mode, theoretically, theres only need for 1 copy of the game, since no external auth server involved.
That also means, that its possible to have multipalyer over wan via tunnels.

So, its at least a possible interest/motivation on developers side, not to offer this kind of lan mode at the release of the game, since it could hurt sales.

on the other hand, id like to have lan mode to be independent from any 3. party will. I want to be able to play a lan session at home w/o any mandatory datapacket leaving the house. From my experience, GoG Customers are mostly thrustworthy, and they buy their stuff. So id suggest take the risk and add that mode not now but in a year or so, when the game reached a nice state of maturity.

Nevermind. Everyone has to make their own decisions, come what may.

What happened here? Am I not aware of some conspiracy going on between developers and publishers worldwide? Why so suspicious? I'm new here, so I may be out of the loop on a few things :(

Steam LAN support involves steam libraries anyway. Doing a real LAN would mean cut yourself from any 3rd party dependencies. Which means another set of multiplayer netcode. We've just finished switching it over from Steam to GOG, and look how long it took. This stuff seriously takes time.
