Just can't find my way out. I keep coming back to an area with a broken bulldozer and some kind of can that "seems interesting" just above it on a ledge. If someone could help me from this area? An in-game map would be oh-so-helpful for this game!

The can is a heal-grease; you won't be able to collect it until later in the game. As for a map, the best option is probably to watch that video - otherwise, all I can say is that the junkyard is fairly linear - it's not a maze - it's a path.

Funny thing is that I once was lost at https://www.u-pull-it.com that junkyard is too big, you can end up on the car buying section where no customers are allowed, then they kick you out and you have no way back to your car, thats a couple of miles long walk around the yard. woofff
