The game always crashes to the desktop after I obtain the last memory and enter the pipe.

When I restart the game and choose Continue, I have the elephant in my inventroy, yet I am in a position of the Chapter where I still need the star, so I have to replay the whole chapter. But unfortunately, the game just crashes again. Tried this several times now, but the game always crashes in the same place. Others seem to have the problem as well, but so far nobody has found a solution and the developer does not respond.

Can anyone help?

I really like the game, but it's really frustrating not being able to complete it.
