So the title pretty much spoiled it. Among the sleep is not saving my gameplay and I'm super frustrated due to it. Tried almost everything. I know I may contact the gog support in such situations, just wanted to hear from people before contacting them coz apparently their reply will take atleast a week or so due to heavy traffic. Please help if you are able to.

Okay maybe I've got a solution for you buddy. I was facing the same issue and then I contacted gog support. They sent me some possible solutions and I tried most of em although my problem wasn't solved, not because the steps were useless but
because I lack internet to do so. You may try those steps and find out. All safe no fear of malware or anything so don't worry, gonna copy paste the solutions that gog support gave me.
Here it is,

Perhaps the following might explain the issue you are experiencing?

If the problem is still there:

Please reinstall the game AND add it to your anti-virus/firewall software's exception/trusted list.
Please make sure that you install the game to a short path, for example:
C:\GOG or C:\Games
"
Hope that helps you. Also I don't have wifi to install the game again as the last step states. I know I should have installed the offline installer instead but no worries I'll try it some other day. Best of luck with that!
