This is a bug that only happens when I create a formation with an officer, a flag bearer, 15 soldiers, and a drummer.

I can control the formation fine when there are no enemies nearby, but as soon as the soldiers engage in combat, they start ignoring my orders. It becomes impossible to retreat or move elsewhere until either the enemy or my soldiers are all dead.

I still have full control over groups of soldiers without officers, however.

What's going on, and how do I deal with this?
