When i use a sniper my game crashes, any help?

Has anyone come up with an answer for this yet? I'm having the same issue. I worked around it for the earlier part of the game in Saudi and Moscow, but now I'm in Rome. Sniper rifle is NEEDED for the current objective, and the game crashes as soon as the cutscene tries to switch to the scope view.
