Hi!

I'd like to know, are the French voices (voice-over) included in the GOG AitD1 installer ?

And if yes, how to activate them ? I manage to have the French subtitles but not to change the audio.

I don't know if that could matter, but I have installed the game through PlayOnLinux and I got a stack error at the very end of the installation. So far it doesn't seem to have caused any trouble but who knows.

Thanks for your answers,
Tinm

Hi Tinm, unfortunately no, no French voices in GOG version, only subtitles.

Okay, thank you for confirming it. I'll play in English then.

Well, you already paid for the game, so it shouldn't pose a problem if you look for the iso image in French in any abandonware page.

Really, the English voice acting is quite shameful and totally destroys the ambieance. A suicide letter on a terror game shouldn't cause laughter....

I suppose you could just install the game as usual, and simply change the dosbox.conf to point the French ISO image, that would do for the voices.

I've finished the game by now. ;)

But thanks for your suggestion, I guess that may have worked.

That's such a shame... Alone in the Dark is a french game, the original version of the game should be the one available on GOG. Plus in my opinion, the french voice acting is much better than the english one.
