Hello, I would like to have made a lan match in AvP, however everytime I go into multiplayer it says there was an initialization error.
So I was wondering how I could set up a local area network match.

According to this, Lan is removed from digital distribution versions -

Damn, I only bought it for lan, I guess it wasn't that bad, it was pretty cheap.

That site needs updating because some information is wrong.

To answer the OP's question, if you look at that site, you'll see the link to sirlemonhead's AVP Gold Edition mod. http://homepage.eircom.net/~duncandsl/avp/

This allows for LAN play and it *might* work for AVP Classic 2000. I've only tested it on Gold Edition but it just may allow for LAN games using AVP Classic 2000. Definitely worth a try if you bought the game only for LAN purposes.

Well when I launched the game with the original exe and not the galaxy launcher in offline mode, the multiplayer option was no longer blocked. Unfortunately I have no means to test the actual lan game, but you can try it
