Hiya,
Been trying to play this at work (It's awefully quiet here currently) which means I have to run it in windowed mode. Tried various tricks so far but no luck. Anybody managed this on Windows XP?

Edit for clarification of people seeing this a bit later. This is about The Nations, not Alien Nations. Sadly The Nations doesn't have it's own forum.

In the registry, set HKEY_CURRENT_USER/Software/JoWood/DV2Addon/video.refresh to FFFFFFFF
If you want to play in fullscreen mode, set the key back to 00000000
To scroll, you must go to the right bottom. The game was not made to be run windowed.
I have found this in the official german forum. Don't hold me responsible if you lose your job by playing at working time!
EDIT: Corrected registry key. Also tested it and it works. You can also use the keyboard to scroll. I had a graphical glitch, thought, that had me to restart the mission so it's advised to save every time before night comes, in case the next day all remains black.

It can be done with every game (or most of them)?

I don't understand the question. This is only for The Nations, not for any other game. Oh, and DV2Addon is because the German name is "Die Völker 2" (Alien Nations is "Die Völker"; literally "The Peoples" or "The Tribes").

I wondered if most of games have that registry key which is responsible for windowed/fullscreen mode or that solution is specific for The Nation. Now I understand that is a unique situation. Too bad... But thanks anyway - good job. :)
