Not sure why, but the first game wouldn't start at all, and the second complained about a "not installed or corrupt PhysX." Thankfully, the PhysX software seems to make these games work even on my AMD card, so that's not an issue. However, for those who are buying these for the first time, I thought I'd post this as a caution in case you're having the problem I had.

For me (Windows 10 21H2) , Alien Breed: Impact also wouldn't run at all. The process would sit in Task Manager for a good 5 minutes and close without ever displaying anything.

I ran the UE3Redist.exe (Unreal Engine 3 Redistributable) executable in {Game Directory}\Binaries\windows and that seems to have resolved the issue. It looks like that also installed PhysX, as you mentioned.

I only had about half an hour to play a quick game. After all the troubleshooting, I only had enough time to mess around in the menus and run around a little bit before having to exit, so not sure if it fully works yet.

The only problem for me it's that after some time the game starts stuttering like hell. I had to close and start the game again, because of that, numerous times.

Also remember that sometimes, if you install the game with the offline installers, it won't install the game dependencies: this happened to me and my friend when playing Terraria together, so we had to install manually the other programs shipped with the game

On windows 11 here and this worked like a charm thanks
yup, the same here, at first, game even won't start! clearly needs the installer fix :-(

* AMD-FX3200 CPU, 32GB RAM, MSI Radeon RX580 8GB, Win10x64.
* Installed newest PhysiX 9 from nVidia websitte (does not help).
* I had to install by hand <game_location>/Binaries/windows/UE3Redist.exe that solved the problem.

Hey GOG please fix the installer as the installed game won't start with no error no message nothing and the fix is trivial.
