When I run the game, a launcher pops up (with Gamename Gamemenu as name). Then I press "play game", the launcher disappears for a second and then pops up again while nothing else happens. The other buttons work, except the log folder.

I'm on Windows 10 64 bit, meet all the system requirements and recent AAA games run without problems. The game is installed in the default option for GoG Galaxy, which is the program files (x86) folder.

Hello slowduck,
when the game crashes, does it open a Crash report window? If so, can you click on that big button in the top right corner? This will send a report about your crash and we can analyse the issue and help you with that.
If such window does not pop up, can you try to find file error.log and copy paste the content here?
Thank you

Hi,

It doesn't open anything at all. I found the error.log file in ProgramData in the game folder, but it's an empty file. aggressors.log is also empty. I did some digging in the windows log files, since windows 10 has the nasty habit of hiding everything from users. I'm getting this error related to .NET:

Exception information: System.IO.FileNotFoundException
at Aggressors.UI.Program.Main(System.String[])
(bold words are translated from dutch so you can understand them)

And another error entry saying it's related to kernelbase.dll.

There's a folder for the game in my documents containing an empty Saves folder and nothing else. Maybe some files are missing here? I also forgot to mention that I already tried verifying the game files.

What dependencies does the game need? I activated .NET 3.5 and I used the directX webinstaller, both with no effect.

By the way, do you still need that Dutch translator I read about on the steam forums?

Hello again,
first thing which you might be missing is .NET Framework. Please go to Microsoft pages, download it and install.
If it doesn't help, the problem might be with permissions. Could you please find file Aggressors.exe.config (it is located in the same folder as the installed game), edit this file in notepad and in line <add key="useSubfolderForUserFiles" value="false"/> and change the false to true so the whole line is
<add key="useSubfolderForUserFiles" value="true"/>

Please let me know if that helped.
By the way, do you still need that Dutch translator I read about on the steam forums?
Could you please send me an email to info@kubat-software.com ? We can talk about it.

Hi,

The .NET installer says that my version is newer. The config file alteration also didn't work.

What I've done since that post:
Updated my nvidia drivers to the latest version
Installed all available windows 10 updates
Checked if Windows Defender caused it

Still the same error and the game not launching.
In that case it seems like an issue even higher in the "hierarchy" outside of the game itself. Would you mind send me your Windows "Applications" event log?
Here is how to do it. Please send it to info@kubat-software.com
I will investigate it and come back o you via email. I am pretty sure we will be able to solve it.
This issue is resolved. Apparently the installation of the 2010 visual c++ redistributable didn't work properly on my computer.

Thanks for the help!
Just in case anyone stumble upon the same issue. Please download and install this
