Something weird's going on and the save I received doesn't load - ingame progress bar reaches the end, but doesn't disappear and I don't get the "It's your turn!" window. For now I've asked Solar to send me the save again.

Solar had some issues with the game file as well and it acted weird during the initial set up and sending. If it doesn't work right in the next day or two, I'll restart the whole thing.

Maybe there's something specific I should try, but it's still not working :(

I traded a few PMs with Solar, I think his AoW:SM is not patched to 1.4. He'll try that and then resend.

Have you tried redoing your game turn with the 1.4 patch installed? I can restart if needed. Nothing has been done by anybody... I will restart the game tomorrow unless I hear otherwise.

Okay... I restarted the whole scenario since only Solar had theoretically taken a turn.
