Goblins, Day 24
This is it grunts, they're coming. Stand ready. Our surprise is being put into action earlier than anticipated, let us hope the dwarven metropolis does not rebel against us.

Turn sent.

[OOC: Sorry for the delay, I was visiting family over the weekend.]
Orcs, Day 24

We are on the eve of a great battle. I can feel it in my bones.
So we are shoring up defenses and getting ready for a big fight.

QuadrAlien's Log, Day 25

Blast and damn, the catapult was a turn out of range. Charged anyway with the other troops, as we had a battering ram - we inflicted 2 casualties, and lost a pikeman and said battering ram. Note to self: endeavour to enlist giants, they're a bit faster.

The dwarves continue their scouting. The High Man, on the other hand, is gathering some troops to go monster lair exploring.

Turn sent.
Halflings Day 25

Seems the goblins are trying to lure us into a trap. However, we are not going into battle recklessly. Building up defenses will take some time. Good thing we can rely on our ally.

Goblins, Day 25
We have had our first major battle with the enemy. The next few turns will show how well we are going to fare. Our ally, the Orcs, appear to be overrun by the elves, we will have to try and hold them off at the bridge. This gives us a great disadvantage in the war overall, but we cannot give up.

Orcs, Day 25

Many battles were fought at the watch tower. Some were lost, but most were won.
The enemy forces have been reduced to a small contingent of archers and some siege engines.
We have pulled back our main army and are now awaiting our opponents' move.

Turn sent.

Sorry for the game restart, I alt-tabbed during my turn and AoW doesn't take kindly to alt-tabbing. It won't happen again.
The halflings start to worry that an evil -vanish- spell has been cast on their elven allies.
We'll give him till Thursday, that'll be two weeks then. I have already emailed him to remind him. If even after then we don't hear anything we'll get a sub in to replace him.
Odd. According to my reports, two battles were fought at the watch tower. One was lost, one was won, followed by the Orc party retreating. The phrasing here is odd along with the timing of a turn restart, and has been part of my rather diminished will to progress, along with being slightly distracted by starting a master's degree (this hasn't been the only game on this site I've disappeared entirely from for a while).

No matter - and having restarted a turn myself, this time I can hardly speak. I will have that Warlord's head yet.

(pulls himself together)

QuadrAlien's Log, Day 25

Quite apart from the watchtower business, there is an infernal Shadow is attempting to pick off my dwarves. This won't do at all.

The hero has found some useful things in the nearby monster lair.

Turn sent. And about time too.
Glad to see you back mate. (oh I forgot to send a message in game)
I looked at how the battles went.

I was pretty surprised at the result of the battle with the Elves vs Orcs. 6 vs 12 and the 6 win. It truly puzzles me how the auto battles work. Oh and I never had any issues with alt tabbing.

Halflings Day 25

We noticed how the Goblins annihilated our forces. I had hoped the balista's would kill the darters before they came close. Once again, auto battles are pretty random and unrealistic. Either way, our forces have been wiped. But the goblins haven't seen the last of us. Mark my words.

Goblins, Day 26
The Halflings have managed to gather a large force at my border, the next day or two will probably determine the outcome of the war for us. We have also sent some troops in the Orcish territory to try and fight back the Elves.

To be absolutely fair, I suspect their failure could potentially have something to do with the auto-combat's irritating habit of deciding to focus fire on the unit with the most health, rather than, say, the healers. :P
Orcs, Day 26

Reinforcing our smaller settlements and hunkering down for another big confrontation.

Turn sent.

@Senteria and QuadrAlien I'm as surprised as both of you that I won that battle.

Regarding the round restart problem I think I figured it out. At the time I was rendering something in After Effects in the background and when I alt-tabbed something must've happened to cause my game to crash(probably a severe lack of RAM). Now when playing my turn I'll make sure nothing so RAM heavy is running in the background.
On an unrelated note, it's good to be back.
QuadrAlien's Log, Day 27

Sending reinforcements south towards the watch tower. Needs different siege engines, in my opinion.

Sent a warning to the Halflings that they've sent a dwarf somewhere near where I think this Shadow was. It was at this point that I noticed the Goblin army near a city I was migrating, coming over a frozen section of river.

Change of plan - leg it!

For some reason when I try to load the game, nothing happens. I wonder why.

When I click on the name of the PBEM game and click on open. It brings me one screen back, but does not load the game. I tried downloading the turn manually but that does not seem to work either.

QuadrAlien, could you maybe resend your turn? I think the turn sending got glitched somehow.
