Hello,

Anyone else still experiencing this problem not finding the screenshots in the "Screenshots" folder after taking pictures with the Camera badge in game? The folder is still empty in my case no matter how many times I take pictures.
This bug has been reported by multiple users on GOG after the first (and only) patch was released. Sadly we will have to wait until Gears for Breakfast manage to add/fix the two features they proudly boasts as being in the game.*
If you have bought A Hat in Time recently, you could ask GOG's support for a refund on the basis of false advertising. But sadly that's about the only thing GOG users can do about this right now.

A Hat in Time was successfully funded on Kickstarter, reaching nearly 10 times its goal! In order to celebrate our community, A Hat in Time is releasing with full modding, an in-game screenshot mode, and more!
(I still don't know what "and more" is...)

Thanks for your reply. It is weird because the latest patch notes say it should fix this. I thought I was the only one experiencing this still even after the update.

You are right: It is weird. Unfortunately I can offer nothing but speculation as to why the bug persists or why there haven't been any further updates for the GOG version in the last 4 months.

I understand. I emailed the devs yesterday about this issue.

I read that a modding update would come for the GOG version this week. Hopefully they'll slip in a fix for this issue along with it.
The bug is still there.

I should really get the devs to notice.

I contacted one of the devs and he said that he's not experiencing this problem with the GOG version at his end. Very weird. I have let him know that many GOG users are having this issue and have linked him to several threads in this forum. No answer yet.

I tried to see for myself if I could find the culprit. I was digging through the files of the game and there are 2 files that contain the path where the screenshots should be saved, the files are HatinTimeEngine.ini and BaseEngine.ini. However, each of those 2 files contain a line that says that the screenshots should be saved to a folder named "ScreenShots" while the true folder is named "Screenshots" (without the second capital S). I thought that this could be the culprit.

I've changed the paths in the .ini files to the correct folder name and even tried creating new folders and assigning those. But it just won't work. Furthermore, I've noticed that there's a Win64 folder inside the Screenshots folder and assigning the path to that folder also doesn't fix this.
The dev furthermore told me that I could also make a screenshot by typing "tiledshot 2" (without quotation marks) during the game in the console bar (enable Console in the game settings, restart the game and then press TAB during gameplay) but this also doesn't work.

I'm not sure if the entries in these 2 files might be the culprit (it could be a hardcoded issue) but perhaps anyone else has any other ideas to try regarding these files?

I've tried all of the same things to no avail, even installing the game to the C drive instead of my usual games drive didn't help (some games just don't like being on another drive).
I'm wondering if the devs test system contained both the steam and gog copy together and that somehow made it work for them. This kind of testing requires a clean system with only the gog copy.
I got on the game's official Discord channel and spoke about the issue in their support and bugs channel. Here's hoping that grabs more of their attention.

Yes, I tried messing with HatinTimeEngine.ini as well to no avail.

That might be the cause indeed. I'll email the dev again about this.

Thanks for the effort. Please let me know if they reply (don't have a Discord account).

No probs. I haven't gotten any response about the screenshots issue. Here's hoping they have an update in the works.
They seem to have fixed it with the lastest DLC.

So the Camera Badge is actually working for the GOG version now?
