So after installing GOG Galaxy I noticed Galaxy updates games in the background and pretty quietly. When I downloaded 8-bit Armies this morning it was build 605302, but now I noticed it has updated through Galaxy to build 605367. In my account page, though, the version of the game has stayed the same. So how does this work? Do minor build changes not get reflected in the accounts page? Do only major updates of a game get posted in your accounts page? Just curious how GOG handles this. Thanks.

This was the patch for multiplayer lobby sync issues so it does not apply to the singleplayer version of the game on the account site of the website.

Online updates are handled by the dev at the moment. Offline will be brought in sync on Monday.
Hey LiqMat,

We definitely need to sync up the numbers so that they're easier to read. Just FYI, the first patch included the following things..

* Reduced multiplayers coordinator timeout for messages from 30 seconds to 5 seconds. On failure to send a message, server would wait 30 seconds before re-sending. This was a major cause of getting games started in multiplayer

* Fixed Crash related to the AI attempting to repair a structure with zero health. This would occur only if a structure was destroyed in the same second that it attempted to repair a structure under attack.

* Fixed Crash related to a small subset of high-end video cards

* Fixed Crash for very long names associated with GOG accounts

* Added warning message for players that are not logged in to GOG Galaxy

* Adjustments to instance server allocation strategy on the backend multiplayer coordinator (server patch) and minor optimization adjustments

Please let us know if you find any of these are not resolved, or you run into anything new. We will continue working on our larger patch for early next week.

Thanks!

Since this patch, my game crashes or freezes everytime ~10 minutes after start...Yesterday (without) the patch, everything was fine... Maybe this is releated to your correction "Fixed Crash related to a small subset of high-end video cards"... Unfortunately the game isn't playable at the moment on my system.

System: Windows 8.1 64 bit
Geforce: Geforce GTX960 (newest device driver)

The software sent a crash report to you after one of these crashes.

Thanks for the response as I have never installed Galaxy before as I have never needed to. I am absolutely not happy I have to depend on Galaxy to "enable" certain features of this game. This no different than online only DRM. Other GOG customers are taking note as well that there is no LAN option. Let me just say if this becomes a trend on GOG watch me stop spending money on your releases. You sell yourself as DRM free and that is what attracted my wallet and hard earned money in your direction. I exclusively buy games only on GOG and Humble Bundle for DRM free titles and I expect you guys to keep to what you preach.

Hey Winchester,

Sorry to hear about this. I'm going to walk back and talk to the engineers right now about it and get an update for you.

EDIT: Ok, I just talked to them, they are looking through a few crash reports. There is some suspicion that it has something to do with the AI. We apologize, and just want to let you know we're looking into it now.

Thanks for your support. The last crash report was sent ~2 minutes ago...
If you need more information (like dxdiag or something else), please inform me.

Could you share the name of your PC? We're trying to identify exactly which crash log file is yours.

My PC name is "DENNIS-PC" - you should have at least two files from me.
The other 5-6 times the system was not able to send a report anymore.

Ok, just got done looking at it with the engineer. There are a few things we noticed...

* Your crash dump file does not have the same signature as other issues we're looking at. It seems to be an exception where other issues are "grouped together".

* Within the log files we received, the drivers are reporting that the graphics card is not responding correctly (and then there's some language about shaders that I won't pretend to understand).

* The fact that the game is working properly, then dies about 10 minutes in may suggest a heat problem of some kind.

So, after looking at it, he explained it as a "Graphics Card Freak-Out" - not the most technical term, but maybe applicable here. So, this is what we're going to suggest...

1. Switch from Vsync off to Vsync on in advanced graphic settings. Your card won't work as hard and might stay cooler.
2. Maybe set graphic detail setting lower to see if it has an impact at all.

You might want to run a stress test on your vidcard just to see if it stands up. These are our best guesses at the moment, but he said he is going to watch for any other occurrences of this from other players - it's too early to say that it isn't our problem and that it's just really rare at the moment.

Please let us know what happens after you try the above, even if it's just to test.

Thanks!

Thanks for your reply, i will test it and send a feedback to you.

The strange thing is that everything was working until you have patched the software. Furthermore, any other software product / game (like witcher 3 on the highest detail level) doesn't have any "heat problems" either. But i will check your recommendation.

LiqMat: [...]
So, should we disallow developer for providing patches quicker (as many users requested) or keep an ever-growing team 24h around the clock for patches?

Offline patches are provided as before, during normal working hours.
Thank you for the State of the Game (petroglyph and gog).

His may come of it last minute problems during outings games. The most important is that it is playable and the currently detected bugs end up being fixed.

We can wait 2-3 days is not very engrave especially for some games launches are more disastrous and there had to wait 2-3 weeks before a patch to play.

Still the same...
I have tried Vsync on / off with completly low details => game gets freezed after ~10-15 minutes...
It does no matter, whether singleplayer or multiplayer... The behaviour is still the same :-\.
And meanwhile i think that all the other players in the multiplaymode hate me because of my freezing stiuation...

I have also performed a GPU stresstest with the Benchmark "FurMark OpenGL Benchmark"
runtime: 15 minutes
avg fps: 45
max temperature: 70C / 158F
result: everything's running smooth - therefore my vidcard is fine in my opinion

And as i said before, the problems have started after the new patch.

My system specs should match the game requirements:
CPU: Core i5-4590 @ 3,3GHz
GPU: Geforce 960GTX
RAM: 16GB DDR3
